• Getting off an airline flight before the final destination?

    by usefulhost • August 19, 2011 • Airline Flight • 6 Comments

Okay. I’m flying from Miami to Dallas to Wichita. I have family in Dallas which I have to see as well and a few days later they are heading up to Wichita. Is it possible that I can skip my flight from Dallas to Wichita and stay in Dallas until they head up to Wichita as well?

I would be in Wichita on the way back. I know it’s impossible to skip the first flight and take the second but is it possible to skip the last?

      Sure, you can do that.

Problem is your return trip will be cancelled. No refund, either.

As soon as you bail on your last segment, your return ticket will be canceled, and you’ll probably have to pay a $100 re-booking fee. So roll the dice and good luck.

If you don’t take all your flights that you have scheduled you will have to pay a fee & the rest of the flight is probably not going to be available for you to complete. you need to contact the airlines & let them know what you are wanting to do. They can assist you with what you need to do.

You can……but what about checked luggage……..none……..OK……….but they will cancel your entire itinerary………..that’s the way it is……….do you have a round trip ticket……….No?……..then you can do it………..Yes……….they will cancel your inbound…………

not a good idea. but you could talk to a ticket agent at the airport and hope to get what you wanted.

So, if this is the last leg of the return flight – or it is just a one way flight – then there is nothing that they can do to force you to get onto the last flight.

You will not be able to take any checked luggage on that flight.

Airlines certainly do not approve of that practice, and if you do it frequently, then they may recognize you as a habitual abuser of hidden city ticketing.
